National Testing Agency postpones NCHM JEE 2021 amid surge in COVID cases

New Delhi, May 05: Amid the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country, National Testing Agency (NTA) postponed the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE 2021). NTA said that the revised date of the exam will be announced in due course.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' took to Twitter and made the announcement. He said, "Looking at the present situation of COVID-19 and keeping students' safety in mind, JEE (Main) - May 2021 session has been postponed. Students are advised to keep visiting the official website of NTA for further updates."
 
 
NTA has also extended the last date for the submission of online application forms for the exam. The registration date has been extended to May 31, 2021. Candidates who want to apply for National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination can apply online.
 
 
 
"Representations are being received from candidates seeking an extension of the last date for submission of online application forms for the exam, on account of difficulties being experienced by them due to COVID 2019 and the disruptions caused by it. With a view to remove hardship caused to candidates and to ensure larger participation of candidates, it has been decided to postpone the NCHM JEE- 2021 exam," the NTA said.
 
The exams were earlier scheduled for June 12, 2021. The government has also canceled CBSE class 10 board exams and has deferred class 12 exams following an exponential surge in COVID-19 cases.
